DECAGV’s advocacy arm pursues laws and policies to reduce gun violence at the state, local and federal level. Policy developments that will improve public safety include requiring a comprehensive criminal background check – with law enforcement oversight – to prevent handguns from flowing freely into our cities, and to decrease community violence.
